Political commentator Scott Jennings has flamed a bit of social media by belittling the Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, calling his gesture “jazz hands”. Jennings further asserted that Walz was out of touch with his idea of “white guy code”. Responses to the tweet were just as mixed as the people who joined the conversation, mostly from laughter to outrage, and while some took to the thread again just to mock Jennings some more, others sprang to Walz’ defence.

He said,” Hey @Tim_Walz, when your signature move is jazz hands, you’re not as up on the “white guy code” as you think you are. Jennings, a conservative strategist known for his vantage spots on CNN panels, tweeted: Jennings seemed to refer to a recent public appearance during which Walz spoke using exaggerated hand gestures.
Responses ranged from positive to insulting and completely odd. One Elizabeth Gomez wrote, “He must keep talking. I like it when he tries to prove his masculinity.” Another stalwart Jen Hellman added: “Don’t forget his Rockette kick…so manly.” Another gave the impression that they were clearly having fun with the roast- thick layers of sarcasm to be felt.
You know, apart from that, it was the freshest thing imaginable. Such flare as, ‘bullet between the eyes’. So, comparisons could be made with some remarks thrown in for fun in the face of Clint’s comment: ‘Scott Jennings. One slimy fuk, wants to Donalds toe jam licker.’ Real classy.
Talking of randomness, there were endorsements that actually begged him to ‘Please run for senate @ScottJenningsKY!’ and Zoe Gold chanting ‘Jennings4Prez’28.’ As if now one could qualify for president by just being an idiot and throwing up jazz hands.
Of course, what were others going to say? Out there very unhinged was, Coentrao77,’Th side parting Pupazzo gets a Pinocchio nose once to the Andromeda Nebula… Side parting Scottty should still fine-tune the performance of the truth transmission.’ Whatever that’s supposed to mean!
Again, it brought up the ‘culture war, with some users showering Walz with homophobic epithets, like the nickname that-has along with some critics-given the virality that has given itself traction-“Tampon Tim.” To which Jeff Criswell for Congress GA-14 responded, ‘”Tampon Tim” – says it all,” believing that it was some kind of mic drop.
Some, however, did praise Jennings for his debating abilities: Tom K said, “Scott, it’s pretty neat listening to you debate with the other people on the CNN panels. You have shown remarkable restraint at times and yet are able to very deliberately convey your conservative points.”
This was just a wild exchange of political stabs, off-color insults, and far-flung tangents-all Twitteresque. Some will say Jennings’ dig was clever; others will say petty. One thing is sure; it stirred debate. And that seems to be all the point today in political ambience.

Ultimately, the tweet headlined almost every other political Twitter spat-it entertained some, enraged others, and left the rest of us wondering why we still bother to read these threads. But at least jazz hands got their moment in the sun.
