Nicole Kidman shocked everyone by debuting a new short hairdo at the 2025 Met Gala, but there’s a good chance that she’s actually just wearing a wig.
The Oscar-winning actress debuted a new pixie cut on the red carpet at fashion’s biggest night on Monday evening (May 5) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Nicole is known for wearing wigs in her movies and TV shows, reportedly to protect her natural hair, so it would make sense that she wore one for this transformative red carpet appearance.
The Met Gala focused on menswear and suiting this year with a “Tailored for You” dress code. The event celebrated the opening of the museum’s new exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. There are six celebrities serving as co-chairs for the 2025 gala, plus 25 more stars who are part of the host committee.
