Get ahead of your Christmas Day food prep by making these Yorkshire Puddings now and freezing. They can be heated back up direct from frozen.

Yorkshire puddings on Christmas Day can be a bit controversial. Some say absolutely, include them always! Other people think they are reserved just for beef. What do you think?
We love them in our house so I will definitely be serving them up. But finding the space for them in the oven when you already have so much other food to cook can be tricky. So here’s my trick… make them now and freeze. Then they just need a few minutes in the oven or airfryer to heat up on the day.

Can You Freeze Yorkshire Puddings
Yes you absolutely can. My top tip is to let them cool then place on trays or plates not touching and freeze for 1 hour. You can then transfer them into a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
How To Make & Freeze Yorkshire Puddings
The full recipe with measurements and instructions are in the recipe card towards the bottom of this blog post. I’ve also included some step-by-step photos here if that is helpful.

- Mix flour and salt together in a large bowl then create a well in the middle.

- Crack in three large eggs and mix well.

- Slowly add the milk, a little at a time and whisk to remove the lumps.

- Add oil to the yorkshire tins and heat in the oven.
Whilst the oil is heating in the tins leave the yorkshire batter to rest for 10 or 15 minutes.
Once the oil is super hot you can pour in the yorkshire batter then bake in the oven for 20 minutes.

Cooling & Freezing Yorkshire Puddings
When the Yorkshire Puddings are cooked, leave them to cool. Then transfer them onto trays or plates and freeze for 1 hour, ensuring that they are not touching. This will stop them sticking together.
After 1 hour, transfer them to a large freezer bag and they’ll keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.

How To Reheat Yorkshire Puddings
On Christmas Day you can reheat the Yorkshire Puddings directly from frozen.
Pop them onto a tray and cook in the oven at 200c for 6-8 minutes or in the airfryer for 4-6 minutes.
