What’s Next for PCC? Updates from the 2025 Users’ Conference

Another Users’ Conference is in the books! Whether you joined us in person in Burlington, VT or virtually, we hope you enjoyed the many opportunities to learn, grow, and engage with your peers in pediatrics. If you’re searching for specific resources or you were unable to join us, read on! There are still plenty of resources you can access all year long to benefit your practice financially, clinically, and logistically.

PCC offers you support and community all year round, but that’s not all we do. We’re constantly making plans and updating the EHR and PCC’s services to better suit the changing needs of your patients. There’s so much in store for your practice in the coming year from PCC, we had to make a list! Below is a list of some exciting features that await you in 2026, shared on Day 1 of the conference in the “What’s New/What’s Next” session. Check out the recording of that session below for each team’s introduction of these exciting new features!

What’s Next at PCC?

We’re so excited to share what’s coming up next year! PCC always takes our client practice’s wishes and desires for the future into consideration when selecting our roadmap for the future. You’re sure to find items you’ve wished for in the list below, plus many more ‘delighters’ we can’t wait to deliver to your workstation.

First on the list: PCC is pleased to announce that in 2026 we will be delivering an ambient AI scribe solution. This tool will help your practice achieve the top goal of many pediatricians: quality face time with your patients, and more efficient charting. We encourage you to catch the announcement as presented by PCC’s Scott Kirby:

But there’s so much more! Here are some of the other exciting features PCC is working on for delivery through the rest of 2025 and 2026, organized by how they benefit your practice.

Deliver Data Where You Need It

  • Electronic Lab Ordering: ordering to Quest will pave the way for lab orders to other vendors!
  • “Resend”: a better experience for resending prescriptions to the pharmacy with changes. Clinical staff will be able to set up “resend” requests for ADHD prescriptions and more!.
  • Send Now or Send Later! Send a prescription now or later: it’s up to you! (Previously announced for PCC 10.4 in late 2025. Now arriving in 2026!)
  • Instead of sending 3 month supplies all at once, send them at your pace: every 1, 2, or 3 months. Plus, set up requests to send to the pharmacy at set dates
  • See and Edit NDCs, and choose your preferred drug name at the point of prescribing
  • Snap Text within eRx!

Optimize Your EHR

  • Hide inactive patients
  • Search by Care Center
  • Better visibility of Snap Texts while charting
  • Ability to configure and edit Account Forms

Updates to Mobile Access via pocketPCC

  • Filter the patient search
  • Add Encounter Details to appropriate encounters
  • Phone Note displays “Signature Requested”

Improving the Patient Portal

  • Improvements to Portal Scheduling, including the ability to prevent only portal scheduling (for when you want families to call you), the ability to schedule multiple patients, narrow search results, and customize search rules

Reporting, Consulting, and More from PCC

  • Standardized Clinical Measure Reporting for NCQA PCMH Recognition — includes depression screening and follow up, childhood immunization status, and more
  • Infrastructure and security upgrades to keep your EHR secure and running optimally
  • Updates to Technical Services, including physical server shipments, reduced downtime, and other background updates and maintenance
  • Consulting: Engage with us to tailor PCC’s nationally-recognized business know-how to your practice!
  • Practice Owner Drop Ins: Join us as we build a community to learn more about running an independent practice from others just like you!

Revenue Cycle Management and Billing

  • OnePCC: The migration of Practice Management (Partner) functionality into PCC EHR, thereby providing modern, streamlined, user-friendly, and efficient workflows and experience
  • Review Account History by Patient: Review and optionally print account history detail for a single patient or siblings. This new tool also quickly and easily identifies unapplied or unlinked payments!
  • Work on Personal Balances: Review a worklist of all family accounts with outstanding personal balances and take action to address!
  • Work on Insurance Balances: This new two-part tool provides Claim Rejections and Unpaid Encounters workflows:
    • Work on Claim Rejections: Identify, filter and view claim rejection detail to address errors and easily resubmit; select by payer, assign cases to yourself or another biller, and when you’re finished making any necessary adjustments and resubmitting the claim, mark them resolved
    • Work on Unpaid Encounters: Review all encounters with an unpaid insurance balance and take action to address!
  • Work on Autoposting Insurance Payment Exceptions: The Electronic Remittance Advice tool has a new, dedicated workflow to review and handle cases of claim payment autoposting exceptions
  • Check Real-Time Claim Status: Instead of using payer portals, immediately check the status of a claim in PCC EHR electronically and on-demand

These are just some of the exciting updates coming from PCC in 2026. We’re excited to continue to empower you and your staff and improve the lives of children and families by accomplishing PCC’s mission: removing the obstacles that prevent you from practicing medicine.
