This morning I woke up at 5:36am. No alarm — just my body telling me it was time.
And straight away, the first thought that hit me was:
“I don’t feel like getting up.”
I had no set meetings today. No one waiting for me.
So my brain quickly offered an “easy” solution:
“I’ll do it later.”
But here’s the truth I’ve learned the hard way — if I wait until I feel like it, I’ll lose.
Feelings vs. Doing
Most of us are guilty of this at some point:
-
“I’ll exercise when I have more energy.”
-
“I’ll eat better once life settles down.”
-
“I’ll start next week when I feel motivated.”
But the secret isn’t waiting for the feeling.
The secret is doing the thing anyway.
So I stopped negotiating with myself. I got out of bed, put my clothes on, and started moving.
By 8am I’d ticked off:
✅ A 45-minute Pilates session
✅ A slow 3km jog
✅ 10 minutes of walking
That’s 5,000 steps done before most people have had breakfast.
Why This Matters
This one distinction — stop thinking, start doing — is what keeps me disciplined.
And discipline leads to consistency.
And consistency = results.
I’m now 6 days into the Toned Program, and already halfway to my goal weight. My weight has been fluctuating between 2–3kg down. I’m feeling clearer, stronger, and more in control.
The best part? My wife has joined me on the program too, which makes the journey even more powerful.
Your Turn
If you’re on the Toned journey as well — or just chasing your own health goals — remember this:
Don’t wait to “feel like it.”
Do it, and the feeling will follow.
That’s how you stay consistent.
That’s how you get results.
With you all the way,
