Scottish Rite for Children, in collaboration with Children’s Medical Center Dallas and UT Southwestern Medical Center, topped the 19th annual Best Children’s Hospitals rankings for pediatric orthopedics. The rankings included 50 pediatric orthopedic hospitals.

U.S. News has long assisted parents and caregivers in finding the best possible care for children with serious illnesses or complex medical needs,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News & World Report, said in a press release. “Our annual rankings of pediatric hospitals provide a roadmap to exceptional care for families, not just by specialty, but also by region and state,” he added.

The rankings were based on surveys from thousands of pediatric specialists, which scored hospitals on success in treating complex pediatric conditions such as fractures, scoliosis, spina bifida, sports injuries, surgical complications and infection prevention.

“High-quality pediatric orthopedic care is essential because children’s growth and development depend on specialized expertise,” Sucato said. “At Scottish Rite, we ensure our team of orthopedic surgeons and staff provide the highest level of clinical care, teach the next generation through our world-class fellowship program partnering with UT Southwestern Medical Center and develop groundbreaking discoveries through research.”

Rounding out the top 5 were Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Cincinnati Children’s, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, as well as Boston Children’s Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital (Houston), which tied for fifth place.

“I want to extend a big thank-you to our amazing team of doctors, nurses, researchers and staff members who put kids first every day,” Sucato said. “Their passion for helping children thrive drives everything we do, and it is what we believe truly sets Scottish Rite apart.”
