The K-pop community got the bombshell of all bombshells when RIIZE, the very popular boy group being talked about since their entry into the arena, announced a debut studio album, \”ODYSSEY,\” which will be out on May 19. Fully-fledged album, huh? Judging by netizens’ reactions, it certainly sent everyone into a frenzy.

Pop Base shared the news on Twitter, and minutes later, replies flooded holographic with hype, confusion, and excitement. Some were thinking of their boos; one declared, @ali_alsama7i, “May 19th? Looks like my bank account’s on an epic quest for redemption!”; on the other hand, @hyundozen replied, “The way nobody gaf.” The cold type. But then again, not everyone would appreciate it.
Then there is this debate on whether it is even a debut album. @Kaze_no_Katana threw some shade, stating, “Calling it a debut when you have like a playlist of songs out already 😭” with many others ganging up. User Justne260264 fired back with a point: \”Riize were in hiatus as rookies for 11 months bruh.\”
There is absolutely no doubt that most replies were huge hype. @_the_solitude_ branded it “history in the making,” while @Wajid_Sardar88 prophesied, “ODYSSEY is going to be a masterpiece.” So maybe some of the doubters should check back themselves to see if such hype is warranted.
Now we reach some wild and weird takes. @foopser went in and asked, “Which Odyssey? Christopher Nolan’s or 2001: A Space Odyssey?” Fair answer? Maybe both. RIIZE’s journey promises to have cinematic levels if the title is any clue.
Boldly underlined, May 19th goes on a lot of calendars. And whether you are supporting the music, the drama, or just watching if RIIZE could really “save the K-Pop industry” (shoutout to @Justne260264 for that act), this rollout does not seem to be boring anymore.

So save the day. Clear your calendar. And maybe start saving up- because if the reactions are that wild, just wait till the actual day the album drops.
