DENVER — In this Healio video perspective, Carly Levy, MD, FAAP, FAAHPM, shares her advice for physicians to cope with tough days at work.

“Something that I do personally is reframe,” the director of the hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Delaware said. “It’s reframing what I just witnessed and thinking about what I actually contributed vs. what I don’t have control over.”

Sometimes physicians don’t have control over the medical outcome of their patients, Levy said. So, it can help to think about the actions they took to make their patient feel comfortable and work with other providers.
