Is it even fall if you don’t have pumpkin spice clinging to your sweater (okay, almost Fall)? ☕🍂 Every September, my kids joke that I’d pumpkin-spice the cat food if I could (I promise I haven’t… yet).

But there’s a reason we crave this cozy flavor: the Starbucks pumpkin spice cold foam may taste good, but it’s loaded with refined sugar, artificial flavors, preservatives, and dairy. Basically, it’s a seasonal sugar bomb in disguise.

That’s why I created this whole food (Vegan) plant-based pumpkin spice cold foam. It’s creamy, frothy, sweetened with maple syrup, and free of refined sugars or oils. Plus, it whips up in seconds with ingredients you probably already have — and it stays foamy for days when blended in my high-speed blender (shout-out to my Vitamix 👋).

🧋 What You Need

  • High-speed blender (like a Vitamix): I tossed all the ingredients in, blended, and the foam stayed thick and frothy for a couple of days in the fridge. I didn’t even need my coffee frother.
  • Coffee frother: If you don’t have a high-speed blender, a handheld frother or the frother built into your coffee machine works too.
  • Glass jar or bottle: Perfect for storing a larger batch in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.

🌟I Recommend the Vitamix for This Recipe

If you’re serious about smoothies, sauces, or silky soups, the Vitamix blender is a total game-changer. I use mine in tons of recipes — including this one — and it blends like a dream. It’s an investment that’s paid for itself over and over in time saved and textures perfected. 😍

I’ve tested multiple models, compared them to other brands (yes, even Ninja), and gathered all the best deals and insider tips in one place. If you’re thinking of upgrading — or wondering if it’s worth the hype — check out my full Vitamix review below.

🎃 What Is Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam?

Typical cold foam is made with nonfat dairy milk and sugar syrup; it’s designed to create a luscious layer on iced coffee drinks. My pumpkin spice cold foam takes the idea to a new level by using plant-based milk blended with pumpkin purée, warm spices, and a touch of natural sweetener. The result is a thick, creamy topper that tastes like your favorite seasonal latte – without the junk.

  • Pumpkin puree gives the foam its signature color and velvety texture.
  • Plant-based milk (oat or soy foam best) provides the creamy base.
  • Fresh spices – cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and allspice – deliver that cozy “flavor explosion.”

💡 Why This Version Is Healthier

  1. No dairy, no additives: Starbucks uses dairy plus stabilizers and preservatives; this version is 100% plant-based and clean.
  2. No refined sugar: Instead of flavored syrups, this recipe uses pure maple syrup or date syrup.
  3. Nutrient-dense spices: Cinnamon, ginger, and cloves don’t just taste amazing — they support digestion, balance blood sugar, and provide antioxidants.
  4. Budget-friendly: One homemade jar of foam costs less than a single coffee shop drink.

☕ Serving Suggestions

  • Spoon it over cold brew, chai, or iced matcha.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon or cocoa powder for extra flair.
  • For a decadent treat, drizzle with homemade pumpkin spice syrup — no refined sugar, just clean fall flavor.

  • Blend base – Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and fully incorporated. This creates your “pumpkin milk” base.

  • Store – Transfer to a glass jar or bottle and refrigerate. Shake before use.

  • Froth per serving – Pour about ½ cup (120 ml) into a frother, blender, or use a handheld frother until thick and foamy.

  • Serve – Spoon the foam over cold brew, iced coffee, chai, or matcha. Sprinkle with cinnamon or pumpkin spice on top.

Servings: 4 generous (½ cup each) or 8 light (¼ cup each)
Storage: 3–4 days in the fridge, tightly sealed
Tips for Best Results:
Oat + soy blend foams really well — you can use half and half if you like.
If using homemade oat milk, strain it well to prevent sliminess.
To make it date-sweetened, blend in ~2 pitted Medjool dates (soaked if needed) instead of maple syrup.
