The first glimpses of the new ‘Predator: Badlands’ poster hit the internet, and people have thoughts. The reveal happened via Geeks + Gamers on Twitter, leaving replies in a chaotic state of skepticism, humor, and utter disgust: Some are excited, some have dismissed it entirely, and some are just in it to roast it.

The poster itself is atmospheric: dark, moody, and very much fitting with that Predator aesthetic. But posters and all! For posting that brand-new poster up there, Two2penz says, “That’s a giant fossilized turd,” and Agenda2030Bran added a bit more: “I would rather sit and watch my own turds float for 2 hrs than see this movie.” Ouch.
Then, of course, the whole Disney thing came into play. Spacebound_11 did not mince words with the statement, “Disney is involved in this. It’s going to be shitty.” Fair or not, it’s clear that some people have trust issues about the Mouse House being able to handle the franchise.
Apparently size matters. Cheese-not-cool-aka-scott26149 noted, “Is it me, or does the predator look too small?” Meanwhile, Raven09s dropped another huge left-field line: “The casting of Michelle Obama as the predator was unexpected.” Uh?
And the punchlines come. The weaponized smirk came up with the all-time meme reference: “It’s ma’am!”-because, obviously, somebody would go there. GoldMag23 then joined in the sarcasm: “Badass female predator don’t need no man predator!” Depending on who you ask, Hollywood’s obsession with strong female leads is either empowering or just plain tiresome.
But some were not being haters. Doncha_Ngo had hopes, saying it reminds him of “Terminator vs. T-Rex,” while giving it an I-couldn’t-care-less shrug. Darremans242 was OG-simple: “i stick to the 1st one with Arnold.” Respect.
But the real question is whether it’ll even be good or just thrown onto the shelf with pathetic sequels. Skepticism so far seems to have the edge, but, hey, we love to hate on things before they’re out! Maybe ‘Predator: Badlands’ is one of those things that’ll surprise us. Or it could always end up as another forgotten entry in a franchise that peaked back in the ’80s.

One thing is certain; the Internet has weighed in. And right now, it’s LOLs and groans in equal measure.
