On 30 July, the Nutrition Network and Keto-Mojo officially launched their highly anticipated online training, Mastering Metabolic Metrics: Testing, Tracking & Transforming Health, with a vibrant Live Launch Party hosted by Tamzyn Murphy, RD, MSc, Head of Content at Nutrition Network.
The event brought together leading experts from both organizations and a global audience of clinicians, coaches, and metabolic health enthusiasts. Together, they celebrated a game-changing collaboration — and the release of a first-of-its-kind training that’s already making waves in the field of personalized, data-driven metabolic care.
The Why Behind the Training: “If we can’t test, we can’t treat.”
Kicking things off, Tamzyn framed the need for the training in simple, powerful terms:
“If we can’t test, then we don’t know what’s wrong. And if we don’t know what’s wrong, we can’t treat anything or do anything about it. So testing is super, super, super important.”
She explained that while testing and diagnostics may sound clinical or dull, they are in fact the keys to effective prevention and management of the chronic diseases that are responsible for the majority of global deaths.
“Up until now, there has not been any overarching, comprehensive training for clinicians, coaches, and laypeople alike to know what they should be testing, how to test it, and how to interpret it — especially in the context of metabolic health.”
What’s Inside: From Ketones to Cardiovascular Risk
The Live gave attendees a sneak peek into the extensive training curriculum — described by Tamzyn as “comprehensive, practical, and absolutely vital.”
Highlights include:
- Ketone, glucose, and GKI testing protocols, taught by Franziska Spritzler, RD, CDCES
- Lab testing in keto, carnivore, and plant-based contexts, with Siobhan Huggins
- Visible clinical signs of insulin resistance, taught by Dr. Hassina Kajee
- De-prescribing medications safely, with Dr. Neville Wellington
- Home monitoring tools and the continuous remote care model, explained by Peter Cummings and supported by Keto-Mojo’s platform
- Dietary tracking (Beth McNally, RD), validated psychological assessments (Karen Heath, PhD), and
- Cardiovascular Risk Assessments, by Prof Matthew Budoff (MD, PhD)
- Microbiome and genetic testing from researchers Dr. Parisa Ghasemi and Dr. Keren Gueta-Milshtein
“This is what clinicians and lay people need to know in order to treat appropriately,” said Tamzyn. “You have to know the metrics. You have to measure to know what’s going on — to know how to fix it.”
A Smarter, More Ethical Approach to Care
Keto-Mojo’s Dorian Greenow, affectionately dubbed “Mr. Mojo” by Tamzyn, contextualized the importance of data within a broader care model:
“We’re trying to move from episodic care — where it’s ‘take this pill, come back in six weeks’ — to a lifestyle-based, continuous remote care model. One where data allows practitioners to triage in real time, tailor interventions, and create lasting change.”
Dorian reminded attendees of the power and responsibility behind metabolic interventions like the ketogenic diet:
“A well-regulated ketogenic diet is pharmaceutical-grade. And when you’ve got a powerful tool, it must be done with care.”
From the Frontlines: The Impact of Real-Time Monitoring
Gemma Kochis, co-founder of Keto-Mojo, shared how the training mirrors what they’ve seen in practice and research.
“We started the company because we saw the difference that testing made in our own lives. Now we’re seeing that same impact in our community of practitioners. When you can see how food and lifestyle affect your ketones and glucose, you’re empowered.”
She emphasized that the training helps both practitioners and patients understand how to personalize care, avoid generic advice, and monitor in a way that’s sustainable and effective.
“It’s about creating a health span, not just a lifespan.”
Glucose-Ketone Index (GKI): The New Vital Sign?
Franziska Spritzler broke down one of the training’s most unique tools — the Glucose-Ketone Index (GKI) — originally developed to monitor outcomes in brain cancer treatment but now widely used across conditions from Alzheimer’s to metabolic psychiatry.
“Ketones are a marker of adherence. There’s no other lifestyle intervention that gives you that in real time. It’s incredibly powerful for practitioners trying to personalize care — and for patients to know they’re on track.”
Personalized, Preventative, Empowered Care
Throughout the Live, the recurring theme was empowerment through knowledge — for patients, coaches, and clinicians.
“The days of throwing generic advice at patients and hoping for the best are over,” said Tamzyn. “We need to see what’s going on, respond appropriately, and individualize care.”
The continuous remote care model, featured prominently in the training, allows for just that — giving practitioners tools to see who’s thriving, who’s struggling, and how to adjust care in real time.
A Shared Vision: Scaling Global Metabolic Health Education
For both Keto-Mojo and Nutrition Network, the training represents more than just another course. It’s a step toward changing the standard of care worldwide.
“Our mission is to train as many people as possible,” said Tamzyn. “So that practitioners and coaches are practicing in ethical and effective ways to really turn the tide on global chronic disease.”
Dorian agreed:
“This is just the beginning. To me, success will be when I walk into a restaurant and say I’m keto or low carb — and it’s as accepted as saying I’m vegetarian or vegan.”
“That’s the world we’re building — and this training is a massive stepping stone toward that future.”
Ready to Master Metabolic Metrics?
If you’re a doctor, dietitian, coach, or just someone who’s serious about optimizing metabolic health — this training gives you the framework, tools, and clinical strategies to translate theory into action.
“You can register now,” said Tamzyn in her final words of the Live.
“And if you’re already using Keto-Mojo, you’re going to love how this training helps you get even more value from the data you’re collecting.”
