

An FIR has been filed against actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, and Vineet Kumar Singh for hurting religious feelings with a scene in their film Jaat.
The Jalandhar police registered the case under a law that deals with acts meant to offend religious beliefs. The film’s director Gopichand Malineni and producers are also named in the complaint.
The complaint says that a scene in the film which released on April 10, has deeply hurt the Christian community.
In the scene, Randeep Hooda’s character is shown standing under a crucifix inside a church while people are praying. His actions in the scene are said to be threatening and disturbing.
The complaint also says that releasing the film during Good Friday and Easter was a deliberate move to create anger and unrest.
Jaat stars Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda, and has earned over Rs. 60 crores. A sequel, Jaat 2, has also been announced.
