This indulgent Domino’s marbled cookie brownie recipe made with basic pantry staples such as flour, butter, chocolate, and egg is one of my family’s favorite sweet treats. I make it in just over an hour by swirling together sweet, buttery cookie dough and decadent brownie batter that is simply irresistible.

If you’ve ever been to Domino’s Pizza, you know that a nine-piece order of their marbled cookie brownies is the perfect sweet treat to serve after a bunch of pizzas. Brownies, in general, are one of my family’s favorite desserts, especially these healthy pumpkin brownies, and this Domino’s copycat recipe is just as popular.
Which is why I was super excited to recreate this fantastic dessert at home and share it with you! It’s easy to make using a handful of pantry staples, and I think it tastes even better than my flourless gluten-free brownies.
I can hands down say that my version of Domino’s famous marbled cookie brownie is my new favorite craving, and dare I say even better than Domino’s!! I take things up a notch by creating a classic blend of rich chocolate brownie with chocolate chunk cookies. They’re gooey, packed with chocolate, and perfect for sharing! Brownies are one of those easy-to-make desserts that are great for getting the kids involved, and my kids absolutely love helping me make these dreamy chocolate chunk brownies.
One mixes the brownie batter, and the other makes the cookie dough layer. It’s just a matter of melting, mixing, and pouring. Then, combine the 2 mixtures in a cookie tray and bake for 30 minutes. They get their hands dirty, which is part of the fun, because they lick their fingers and scrape the bowls with the scrumptious brownie, cookie batter, while I just supervise, pouring in the exact quantities, letting them mix and pour. Baking with kids is such a wonderful activity!
The hardest part is telling them they have to wait until the marbled cookie brownies have to chill before they can eat their chocolate creation. I have to cut a few squares and wrap them before they notice, otherwise, my neighbors will never see them. They are seriously moreish that even I have to stop myself from having more than one. Ha! The gooey chocolate layer topped with buttery cookie studded with chocolate chips is so utterly irresistible that you’ll be making these Dominos marbled cookie brownies again and again after the first batch. Trust me!

🥘 Ingredients
My easy copycat recipe is made with a handful of common kitchen tools and simple ingredients.

Dutch Processed Cocoa: I use a rich and decadent cocoa powder that makes these Domino’s brownies super chocolatey.
All-Purpose Flour: I recommend using this flour to add a nice chew to both the brownie and cookie layers.
Chopped Chocolate: I chop the chocolate to create swirls of gooey chocolate throughout my brownie batter.
Sugars: I use a combination of brown and white sugar to add a deep and sweet flavor.
Butter: To add richness and flavor to my marble cookie brownies.
Eggs: Like in all brownie recipes, eggs are the binding agent used to hold the brownie mix and cookie dough ingredients together.
Chocolate Chips: I slightly melt the chocolate chips to create warm chocolate chunks throughout the chocolate chip cookies layer.
Vanilla Extract: To give the brownies a subtle flavor, I add a few drops of vanilla.
Sea Salt: I add just a pinch of salt to bring out the intense sweet and chocolatey flavors of these marbled cookie brownies.
🔪 How To Make
My decadent brownies come together effortlessly in 2 bowls and 30 minutes of baking. Here’s what you will need to do:
Create your Brownie Batter
In a large bowl, I whisk together the melted butter and white sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved.

I add the eggs and whisk to combine.

Then, I pour in the melted chocolate and whisk to combine.

Gently I stir in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and baking soda. I only mix until just combined, then set the brownie mixture aside while preparing the cookie batter.

Create your Chocolate Chip Cookie Batter
In a separate bowl, I cream together the butter and both sugars, mixing on low speed until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Then, I add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth and creamy.

Now, I slowly combine the flour and baking powder in the bowl, mixing until just combined.

I use a rubber spatula to gently fold in the chocolate chips.

Combine and Bake
I pour the brownie batter into a parchment-lined 9×9 baking pan and spread the mixture into an even layer.

I add spoonfuls of cookie dough to the top of the brownie batter and use a spatula to swirl the two together.

Then, I just bake the swirled batter in a 350°F/170°C oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.

I recommend letting the chocolate chip cookie brownies cool on a wire rack completely before slicing and serving.

My #1 Secret Tip for this Domino’s marbled cookie brownie recipe is to make sure the brownies have a fudgy texture by whisking together the butter and sugar thoroughly, but not overly mixing the brownie batter, or it will cause the brownies to be dense and heavy.
Other Tips To Keep In Mind:
- Clean cuts: I always let the brownies cool all the way before slicing so they hold together and do not crumble.
- Cocoa choice: I use a good quality unsweetened cocoa powder because it makes the flavor so much richer.
- Swirl gently: I never mix the batters too much because I want each flavor to stand out on its own.
- Room temperature: I use room temperature ingredients for the cookie dough since it blends together so much smoother.
📖 Variations
If you want to add extra flavors to your brownies, I have a few suggestions for you to try.
Double chocolatey: I create double chocolate marbled cookie brownies by adding a 1-2 tablespoon of Dutch-processed cocoa powder to the cookie dough.
Gluten-free: I sometimes make a gluten-free version for friends by using 1:1 gluten-free baking flour instead of the all-purpose flour.
Make it vegan: While I haven’t personally tried this, I would guess that vegan butter and flax eggs would work well in this recipe.

🍽 Serving Suggestions
We love eating these brownies after a tasty family dinner and serving them with ice cream or other sweet treats. Here are some of my favorite recipes:
To start the dinner off with fall flavors, I love to make my pumpkin salad that’s packed with quinoa, kale, and arugula, or a simple 30-minute creamy leek asparagus soup. Starting with one of these light starters and making a veggie supreme or healthy spinach pizza is the best way to keep the dinner low on carbs before enjoying these indulgent brownies.
These sweet and gooey marbled cookie brownies also make the perfect base for a wide variety of fun toppings. We love placing a scoop of chocolate banana ice cream, a handful of chunky chocolate bites, a drizzle of vegan caramel sauce, or a sprinkling of chopped tree nuts.
🧊 Storage Directions
Refrigeration: To store leftover brownies in the fridge, I transfer any leftover marbled cookie brownies to an airtight container, covering with plastic wrap, and storing for up to 1 week
Freezing: I also freeze cooled marbled brownies in a freezer-safe, sealed container for up to 3 months.
Reheating: The best way to enjoy these delicious brownies warmed up is to pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds to a minute.
❓Recipe FAQs
Cracks occur when the batter dries out too quickly during baking, often due to baking at a high temperature or overmixing the batter. For best results, I recommend baking the brownies at 350°F/170°C oven for 35-40 minutes, and mixing just until combined can help prevent this.
If your brownies are dry, it is because they have been baked too long. I always make sure to check my brownies after 20 minutes to check if the center is still wet. For best results, use the toothpick doneness test after 20 minutes and every 5 minutes after that. Some ovens vary in how the temperature cooks the brownies, so it’s best to check your brownies so that the middle is still wet before taking them out of the oven.
Neither the original nor the copycat version of these marbled cookie brownies is vegan. However, you can easily substitute the eggs, butter, and chocolate for vegan alternatives to make my cookie brownies vegan (see variations above).
