Bethenny Frankel Claps Back at Gia Giudice After She Slammed Her For Speaking On Teresa and Luis’ Financial Drama!
Bethenny Frankel is addressing comments made by Gia Giudice following her public remarks about Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and husband Luis Ruelas’ financial issues.
After Gia, 24, called out Bethenny, 54, for what she perceived as shading her mother Teresa, 52, and stepfather Luis, 50, amid their reported tax troubles, the former Real Housewives of New York City star responded with a series of videos, where she offered a candid explanation of her perspective.
Bethenny Breaks Her Silence
“This isn’t something I’d normally respond to,” Bethenny began in one of the Instagram videos. “It’s not something I really care about. But let’s talk.”
Bethenny then acknowledged Gia’s frustration over a previous video in which Bethenny appeared to question Teresa’s financial decisions, including marrying someone with reported tax issues and not signing a prenuptial agreement.
Gia took issue with Bethenny’s tone in that clip and reminded the RHONY alum that Teresa is “a mother” and that she should be more empathetic as someone with a daughter herself.
In response, Bethenny admitted that she hadn’t been following RHONJ closely enough to recognize Gia immediately.
“I don’t know who Gia is,” she said. “I don’t know the difference between those girls. I’ve liked different posts of theirs, but I don’t know who’s who.”
It’s Not About Teresa
Bethenny went on to clarify that her original message wasn’t aimed at Teresa personally but was intended to help younger women understand the importance of financial preparedness—especially when it comes to prenuptial agreements.
“If, in fact, they have tax issues and they’re not paying them, and she didn’t sign a prenup—it’s not about her,” Bethenny explained. “I’m talking to you guys… It doesn’t matter if you’re poor, rich, who has what. You sign a prenup because it makes things much easier later.”
She added, “Teresa is a protective mom. She’s a working mom, and I respect that. I have nothing against Teresa.”
Bethenny also acknowledged that Luis could be “a wonderful guy,” despite speculation and what she described as “warnings” regarding his past.
“My occasional job or desire here is to talk to younger women about mistakes they might make if not guided, if not clear, just looking around at their peers,” she said.
Calling Out Gia’s Take on Prenups
During the video, Bethenny addressed Gia’s prior comment on being upset that her father, Joe Giudice, made Teresa sign a prenup. According to Bethenny, that reaction revealed a lack of understanding about financial literacy and legal protection.
“She’s just ill-advised and not educated on this topic,” Bethenny said. “She just doesn’t know, and hopefully she’ll realize that it’s about being financially literate.”
Bethenny also used the opportunity to reiterate the importance of having legal agreements in place, regardless of trust or emotion.
“Same Level of Stupidity”
In a follow-up video, Bethenny made a broader point about the need for financial safeguards in marriage and compared skipping a prenup to conducting major life transactions without contracts.
“If you’re not gonna sign a prenup in a legal marriage, then when you buy a car, sell a house, purchase anything, a Hermes bag, whatever it is, just look at the person and say, ‘Don’t worry about it. I don’t need anything in writing. It’s fine. Take my car. Take my house. I’ll take yours. In good faith, I trust you,’” she said. “Just do that. Same level of stupidity.”

Bethenny has long spoken about financial independence and personal empowerment. Her comments come at a time when Teresa and Luis have been under public scrutiny due to reports of tax liens and alleged business issues.
While Gia has yet to respond to Bethenny’s latest remarks, the exchange has reignited conversations online about the realities of reality TV, fame, and the pressure of growing up in the spotlight.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey returns later this year on Bravo.
