Aimee Lou Wood is opening up about how there was a time where she may not have even been on The White Lotus season three.
The 31-yearold Sex Education actress of course did eventually land the part, but at one point after the first week of filming, a producer told her how series creator, writer and director Mike White fought for her to be in the cast.

“Someone told me how much Mike had fought for me. They said ‘it had to be you, no matter what HBO said.’ It was honestly from the nicest place, but my little head goes: ‘HBO didn’t want me. And I know why HBO didn’t want me, it’s because I’m ugly. Mike had to say ‘Please let me have the ugly girl!’” she told GQ Hype with a laugh. “That was the thing that was in my head.”
This then made her worry she was weird, but that’s Mike had seen in her and wanted her to go for.
“Don’t get in the way of your weirdness,” Mike told her, “Be freaky!”
Aimee also shared how being a part of the juggernaut of The White Lotus made her remember how much she treasures living a normal life.
“I want to have a weekend. I want to be with my friends. I don’t want to not be thinking about f–king progressing my career for one second, because I don’t even f–king care about progressing my career,” she said. “So it’s like, why is all my energy going towards something I don’t care about?”
