Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s appearance at a recent town hall caused quite a stir.
During a Tuesday, April 15, meeting near Atlanta, Ga., two protestors were tased by police and several others were taken into custody after crashing the right-wing congresswoman’s political event.

According to the Acworth Police Department via the New York Post, six people were led out of the community center after allegedly screaming and getting physical at Marjorie Taylor Greene during the first minutes of her speech.
In one instance, a protestor yelled, “Free Kilmar,” in reference to Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was mistakenly deported to a notorious El Salvador prison by Donald Trump and his administration.
“While attempting to remove the subjects from the event, officers were threatened, physically resisted and harmed in the process,” authorities claimed in a statement. “One of those arrested provided identification that placed them outside of Congresswoman Greene’s district.”
Despite the outbreak of violence, the Acworth Police Department confirmed they and other state officials prescreened attendees in order to avoid “potential for disruptive behavior” at Marjorie Taylor Greene’s gathering.
“Plans were made in advance with this intelligence in mind,” they explained. “Sadly, as soon as the Congresswoman began her presentation, several members of the audience became disruptive and created an imminent public safety threat for all in attendance. Their intentions were clear, to place the members of our beloved police department in a no-win situation in front of numerous media outlets.”
Hours later, Marjorie Taylor Greene addressed the situation on X. “This is a peaceful town hall, ladies and gentlemen,” the Republican wrote. “This should not have to happen.”
Greene also gave a statement to reporters while exiting the event. “I’m glad they got thrown out. That’s exactly what I wanted to see happen,” she told a group of journalists. “This isn’t a political rally or a protest. I held a town hall tonight. You know who was out of line? The protesters.”
Marjorie Taylor Greene is not one to hold back her thoughts about her and Donald Trump’s critics, especially regarding how they should be treated. In January, the Republican went off on a rant about a French journalist who asked a question she didn’t like during one of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s briefings.
“How about that accent from that reporter? I think we need to throw out all the foreign press! American media first!” Greene wrote in a post shared to X.
