The series follows Dr. Danielle Sims in her third year residency in a Miami hospital, as her love life implodes and her work life improves.
News 9’s Movie Man Dino Lalli spoke with ‘Jack Reacher’ co-star and ‘Pulse’ protagonist Willa Fitzgerald about the challenges she encountered and the growth of her character throughout the season.
“I loved getting to learn all of this new terminology. I loved learning as much as I possibly could the procedures that we we’re doing,” Fitzgerald said. “It kind of became a competition with myself about whether I could trick the actual doctors we had on-set.”
A common trope for medical dramas tends to be portraying the doctors as essentially superheroes, but Fitzgerald said she sees the opposite within “Pulse”.
“The imperfect choices that everyone makes, both at work and not at work,” Fitzgerald said. “I think that in the end of the day what we really want them to do is make the best decision they can with the information they have.
The first season of “Pulse” is available to stream on Netflix right now.
