Cincinnati Children’s has retained its distinction as the No. 1 children’s hospital for cancer in the country.
The institution tops U.S. News & World Report’s list of best hospitals for pediatric cancer for 2025-2026.

Data derived from U.S. News & World Report‘s Best Children’s Hospitals for 2025-2026.
This is the third straight year Cincinnati Children’s has ranked first.
“Expertise and heart drive our team’s approach to precision care, making Cincinnati Children’s a national leader in turning medical research and innovation into family-first wins,” John Perentesis, MD, FAAP, chief of oncology at Cincinnati Children’s, told Healio. “From precision oncology and cell therapy to advanced proton/FLASH, the credit belongs to our subspecialty teams and the families who partner with us.”
The annual Best Children’s Hospitals rankings are intended to help families of children with serious illnesses or complex medical needs obtain the best possible medical care.
The rankings highlight the top 50 centers in 11 pediatric specialties: behavioral health, cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and lung surgery, and urology.
Other centers named to the top 10 for cancer care this year are Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, Children’s Hospital Colorado, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Children’s National Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland, California.
“Our annual rankings of pediatric hospitals provide a roadmap to exceptional care for families — not just by specialty, but also by region and state,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in a press release.
U.S. News & World Report also released its 2025-2026 Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, which recognizes centers that deliver exceptionally high-quality pediatric care across multiple specialties.
Hospitals named to the honor roll — in alphabetical order — include Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Children’s National Hospital, Cincinnati Children’s, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Rady Children’s Hospital, Seattle Children’s Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital.
The Best Children’s Hospitals rankings take several factors into account, according to the release.
These factors include clinical outcomes, compliance with best practices, and level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care.
RTI International, a research and consulting firm based in North Carolina, collected and analyzed data from 118 children’s hospitals and also surveyed several thousand pediatric specialists.
