The internet just exploded overnight. Yungblud Army, the official fan account of the UK rock star, finally drops the announcement that literally everybody has been waiting for: Dom Harrison a.k.a. Yungblud’s new album is titled ‘Idols.’ And yes, the internet is collectively losing its cool over this. Pre-ordering is live, and the link is in the bio. Real talk: by now, with the news just out, you must have refreshed 20 times already.

The reaction? A total mess. Some are crying for real-crying emojis abound-others are rushing to pre-order while others are basically shouting into the void because their wallets are not ready. @megan_alyss_ was really expecting a tour announcement but rather received an album announcement: “Mom gave me my birthday money early to pre-order.” Priorities, right?
Then @zena_ann_richardson admitted she might be one of the oldest fans of Yungblud at fifty-eight, “but I’m here for good,” and that sparked a thread wherein others followed, citing their age and their affection for Dom. One person said there is a 67-year-old with an entire fan account dedicated to him. So age is, apparently, no hindrance to Yungblud’s music.
However, the parties are not going well for everyone. @bree.bhc says they’ve been in limbo since pre-orders yet are not supported in Australia. “There’s no Australian store, and the other international stores won’t ship here,” they say in complaint. Meanwhile, @goda.doga just asks straight-up, “Who can pre-order it for me? I’m broke.” Mood.
No one really expected the dreariness of all this news to set in. @caveyellerart described it further in more than a few paragraphs about how Yungblud music was healing for them. “The way a complete stranger can give you the strength to heal what you’ve been running from since before he was born is unimaginable to me.” Deep? Yes. Relatable? Absolutely.
Then @lida.lidlidart hit the German feels: “Das ‘Guys, I can’t take it anymore’ is zu real.” For some of you, it simultaneously means “Yes” and “Some moments, no words can suffice.” Contrast to the response: Just “Ja.”
The hype is beyond the music; it’s about what Yungblud stands for. @amy.nikkilee called him “a true inspiration to those of us that look a bit different and that have suffered a lot.” @danni.berry.10 commended him for his “heart, vulnerability, honesty and loyalty.” So, obviously what Dom stands for goes much further than the songs themselves.
Of course, we ain’t gonna forget the reaction of @lex.nancy2009, having absolutely lost it because the album drop is in their birth month, October. “YOU FUCKING LEGEND,” they screamed-with all caps being very necessary.
So yeah, ‘Idols’ coming soon. Whether it’s pre-ordering the vinyl, restrictions making you cry, or slyly kicking yourself all the while because Yungblud’s music is literally a lifeline for so many of us, one thing is sure: This album is going to be so much bigger. Judging from these reactions, this album might actually end up being one of those that saves a few lives along the way.
