Shah Rukh Khan had planned to attend the launch of a bronze statue featuring himself and Kajol based on their iconic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) in London’s Leicester Square.
The event was scheduled for this week but due to rising tensions caused by the India-Pakistan war situation it has been postponed.
Shah Rukh who was already in London for the event decided to cancel his appearance and returned to India last night.
He had just attended the Met Gala where he made history as the first Indian male actor to walk the red carpet, and was planning to head to the statue launch afterward.
The organizers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the postponement. A new date for the statue unveiling will be shared soon.
Fans will have to wait a bit longer to witness the tribute to the beloved film and its legendary characters in London.
