If you ever caught Piper Rockelle and The Squad on YouTube, you probably fell in love with the young friends’ easy banter, fun pranks, budding relationships, and all-around antics. But, as Netflix’s newest docuseries, Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing, reveals, what was going on behind the scenes was a lot seedier than anyone thought.
Over three episodes, the series interviews former Squad members, their families, and experts who break down claims of emotional and physical abuse, inappropriate and predatory behavior, child labor, and a wild number of cats.
It’s a roller coaster ride of reveals and claims, including an 11-person lawsuit against Piper’s mom, Tiffany Smith, that settled for just under $2 million. Whether you’ve ever followed Piper or not, it’s an interesting look at the underbelly of kids’ content and asks who protects these children as they grow up onscreen.

If you’re curious about where Piper and her former Squad members are now, here’s a breakdown of those featured in the docuseries.
Piper Rockelle

Piper Rockelle, Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing
NetflixPiper is now 17, but she has been creating social media content with her mother’s encouragement since she was eight years old. She currently lives in Sherman Oaks, California, and continues posting videos and other content to her various social channels. These days, she has more than 12 million YouTube subscribers, 6.1 million Instagram followers, and 14.7 million TikTok followers.
Piper is no longer in contact with her former Squad members and tween besties, but she has a new group of friends who appear in various collaborations with her. Until recently, that included Lev Cameron, her boyfriend. However, they broke up in 2024, and Piper began dating another influencer named Ryan Frye. They have since broken up, and Piper is now romantically linked to another influencer named Capri Jones.
Her first post (below) after Bad Influence was released seems to address allegations from the documentary, and the comments section is full of people checking in on her well-being.
Lev Cameron
Lev and Piper dated from 2020-2024 and frequently collaborated on dating videos on social media. The pair are reportedly still friends, but now they do their own content. Lev currently boasts 6.7 million followers on TikTok, 1.6 million on Instagram, and 3.3 million followers on YouTube.
Emily Dobson
Emily left Piper’s crew in 2023 after claiming that her time on social media severely affected her mental health. Although neither she nor Piper directly addressed the split, it appears as though the two are no longer friends. The silence makes sense, considering the contracts that these kids reportedly sign. However, fans were disappointed by Emily’s disappearance and continued speculating about what really went down.
These days, Emily is back on social media and posts various content to her 5.1 million TikTok followers, 1.5 million Instagram followers, and 3.24 million YouTube subscribers.
Sophie Fergi

NetflixSophie is one of the most vocal ex-Squad members in the Netflix documentary and Piper’s former best friend. She and her mom even lived at Piper’s house for a while. Unfortunately, the pair no longer speak, as Sophie claims she was blacklisted after leaving.
These days, fans can find Sophie on the podcast series Girl Talk, in which she and other teens speak candidly about relationships, social media, insecurities, and parents. She still has a social media presence and tends to post shorts across her various channels.
Gavin Magnus
Gavin is another of Piper’s ex-boyfriends who spent time in her Squad. Although the pair unfollowed each other for a while after the breakup, they’ve since been back in touch, and as of February 2025, they are now friends. Gavin posts a lot of content across Snapchat, TikTok, Twitch, and YouTube, and he’s an aspiring rapper with songs like “PSYCHO” and “Just Me.”
In addition to producing online content, he has a podcast, Bro Code, and has participated in The Jed Foundation’s Mind Matters digital series to support the emotional well-being of teens.
Symonne Harrison
After leaving The Squad in 2021, Symonne leaned into her acting career with a part in the TV series Crown Lake. She also hosts an online series called The Friendzone Show, which explores the ups and downs of being a young adult in Los Angeles.
Sawyer Sharbino

NetflixSawyer had a history of dating some of his Squad members, including Sophie and Emily, but he left the gang in March 2021. These days, he lives in Los Angeles and continues to post all kinds of videos on his social media platforms. He’s a singer with the 2023 EP Manipulate and has recently gone viral with a song he wrote for Piper.
Hayden Haas
Since leaving The Squad, Hayden seems to be living a relatively normal life away from the content creator world. He hasn’t posted anything new to his YouTube channel in four years, and his Instagram following is quite low compared to those of his former co-stars. When he does post, it’s not videos or collaborations, but everyday activities involving sports, music, and animals.
Jentzen Ramirez
Jentzen is still in the content creator world and has regular videos involving elaborate plots on his YouTube channel. He also stars in the web series Juniors Cafe and appeared on Chicken Girls.
Corinne Joy
Corinne has also appeared in the web series Chicken Girls and last year she starred in an episode of Matlock starring Kathy Bates. She continues to create online content, but this year, she’s shifting gears and training to become a WWE pro wrestler.
Claire RockSmith

NetflixPiper’s cousin is one of the loudest voices in the Netflix documentary, and she has been promoting the series on her platforms leading up to its premiere. Since her time in The Squad, Claire has mostly stayed away from YouTube, and although she does share some content on Instagram and YouTube, right now, she’s focused on an upcoming venture called iCare by Claire.
