Of course, the main goal is to find love.Love on the Spectrum
Though Love on the Spectrum can only share so much with the viewers with the limited episode count, what we do get season after season is extraordinary. For Season 3, the show has reached new heights, thanks to its amazing cast, including Connor Tomlinson and Madison Marilla. Connor returns after his debut in Season 2, while Madison joins for the first time this season. While they both are at different points in their journey to find love at the start of the season, they have ended up finding true love. For Connor, it’s a young woman named Georgie Harris. For Madison, it’s a young man named Tyler White.
Connor Has Become More Confident Since Season 2
The moment we began our chat, Connor asked me a question. “So, what is it you want to know about me?” Of course, I said, “Everything!” If you thought he was charming on the show, it’s just as captivating speaking to him as well. When we met Conor in Season 2, he was a bit apprehensive to start this scary journey. With the support of his family, Connor set out on a path to find a partner through speed dating, a common start for many of the show’s participants. New to the concept, he made some fumbles, but in the end, it was an incredible learning process for him. He eventually went on a few dates, but nothing truly stuck. He was in a rut. Until he met Georgie. Sparks flew, and love set in. Did Connor find the one? Let’s find out.
When asked how he would describe his show in three words, he said, “Amazing, exhilarating, kinda scary.” Even though it’s a bit scary, he’s had a lot of fun being part of the show. “I got to go to cool places, meet nice women. Eventually, I found Georgie.” Connor’s story arc for the season centered on redemption. While he may have ended Season 2 single, he found someone special this time around. Of all the dates he had with Georgia, his favorite was at the Chateau Elan. Perhaps he wouldn’t have the confidence he’s gained had it not been for the caring and supportive people in his life. His family has been a key part of his story, and is one of the most beautiful elements of his journey.
For Connor, he shared that Love on the Spectrum tends to get him out of his comfort zone, as well as the message that it tries to project. “Anything can happen, even for someone on the spectrum,” he said. His confidence has grown significantly since his first season, and it’s been amazing for both us, as fans, and for him. “I’ve seen myself growing as a man. Not as a man per se, but as a person in the world.” While the show serves as an educational piece for viewers, even the participants experience their own personal teaching moments. “I’ve learned that love is hard. Relationships are complicated at times. It’s not easy going on dates,” he revealed.
Aside from enjoying sunny days, there’s one thing Connor is confident that he learned: he’s a good date. Now, what would he say is a perfect date? “That’s easy. Dinner and a movie,” he quickly answered. His favorite movie is How to Train Your Dragon, which lines up with his love for all things dragons, which we saw him celebrate this season. “I’ve been a huge admirer of dragons since I was yea big.” Since the season ended, Connor and Georgie have since been spending time together. For Valentine’s Day, Connor shared that they went to Medieval Times. The big spender that he is upgraded her to the Queen’s package. Suffice it to say, this couple is doing well. They have some planned dates coming up.
Madison Has Learned How To Be Flexible Thanks to ‘Love on the Spectrum’
Each season of Love on the Spectrum, there is a slight shake-up in the cast. As there are always new stories to tell, in addition to the continuations of the ones we love, the opportunity to meet new participants gives us the chance to explore a more diverse world of individuals living with autism. In Season 3, the instant stand out of the cast came through Madison and her amazing openness. Being able to become a breakout star while in a cast next to icons like Abbey Romeo, Tanner Smith, and Dani Bowman, you have to be something special. And Madison is something special.
Her experience on the show has been, as Madison put it, “Extremely exciting and very eye-opening.” She describes the show as eye-opening, unexpected, and inspiring. “It opened my mind up to being in a relationship,” she said. “It is inspiring because it’s inspired many people on the spectrum to want to find love.”
Now, Madison, like me, has a very specific place in my for a perfect date: Disney World. Her favorite princess is Belle, though as a kid it used to be Snow White. Another perfect date she revealed would be going to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Perhaps one day she’ll be able to go and see her favorite country artist, Shania Twain. On top of her love for country music and Disney princesses, Madison was able to share her collections to the world.
She collects American Girl dolls and makes beaded jewelry, something that we also have in common. And soon, Madison reveals, you’ll be able to purchase her jewelry online. What is it about jewelry-making that she loves? “It helps calm myself down. It gets rid of any anxiety or nervous energy. It’s a weight that lifts me.”
For Madison, being on the show has been a learning experience. “I have learned how to compromise and be flexible, and not every person is like me,” she revealed. “And my interests have expanded a lot since meeting Tyler and being in a relationship.” Well, I guess it’s time to talk about Tyler! The pair became the perfect couple by the season’s end. Not only did Madison experience her first kiss with Tyler, but they also shared some beautiful moments together, including some line dancing.
With country music being a common interest of the two, she shared, “For Christmas, I gave Tyler Alan Jackson concert tickets, and we’re seeing him in a couple weeks.” Perhaps they’ll show off their line dancing at the concert. The chemistry the couple has is truly what makes their pairing work. Her favorite thing about him? “His Southern accent, his cowboy boots, his cowboy hat. He’s a Southern gentleman.” And he’s full of surprises! “Back at Christmas, he took me to the American Girls doll store and the World of Disney store,” she excitedly shared.”

Connor and Madison Discuss ‘Love On the Spectrum’ Season 3
Has their newfound fame caught up to them yet? “On Sunday, a lot of people I didn’t even know came up to me at church and were recognizing me.” While she didn’t take selfies with her fans at church, she did take some while at Publix and Hibachi Express. She even has fans eager to send her more American Girl dolls to add to her collections. At 45 in her collection at the time of our chat, she said, “By the time fans send me more dolls, maybe 55.” That’s an incredible collection! Connor, with two seasons under his belt, has certainly been recognized. “Some people, the fans want to take pictures with me. They tell me their huge fans of the show and what episode they’re on.” One thing he doesn’t do, sign autographs, he slyly said.
Though the entire cast comes from all different parts of the country, when there is a chance to interact, they take it. At the premiere, Madison and Connor were able to spend time with their fellow cast members beyond their Zoom calls, where Madison was so excited to show them her collections. Connor has been able to spend time with his new friends, too. “I especially enjoy hanging out with Tanner. He’s like the heart of the show. Him and James [Jones].” I had to remind him he’s in that category as well! Maybe he was too humble to admit it at first, but Connor knows how special he is. James was excited to share that he and James went axe throwing together where he beat everyone, landing the bullseye.
Season 3 debuted on April 2nd, which just so happened to be World Autism Awareness Day. Could it be more fitting? With the season available for a complete binge, it’s worth it. And it’s because of stories and individuals like Connor and Madison. While speaking to both of them separately, they raved about how much fun they’ve had being a part of this new season. Probably to the surprise of no one, Madison’s favorite moment of the season was her first kiss with Tyler. “It was a very special moment because I have never kissed a guy up until then,” she said. But the other moment that stands out for his when she and Tyler met for the very first time. “Since the show stopped filming, we’ve been going on dates every week.” Connor has watched bits of the season. Which ones? “Just the bits with me in it,” though he said he is excited to watch his friends too. Like Madison, Connor’s favorite moment was his first date with Georgie where he taught her croquet. As Love on the Spectrum continues to capture our hearts, it’s safe to say that both Connor and Madison have theirs captured as well.
