The much-awaited prequel Kantara: Chapter 1 has hit a rough patch during its shoot. The film directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, recently faced a major tragedy when a junior artist MK Kapil from Kerala drowned in the Souparnika River.
The incident happened during a lunch break when Kapil went for a swim and was swept away by the river’s current. His body was found after a search operation later that evening, and the shoot was immediately halted.
This is the third major setback for the film. Earlier, a bus carrying junior artists met with an accident, and a massive set was destroyed due to sudden rains.
Additionally, the Forest Department raised concerns about environmental disturbance caused by the shoot.
Despite the hurdles Kantara: Chapter 1 remains one of the most anticipated films of the year and is scheduled to release on October 2 in multiple languages.
