Jeanine Pirro is heading to Washington, D.C.After Donald Trump named the Fox News host interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia on Thursday, May 8, MSNBC’s All In anchor Chris Hayes paid tribute to Pirro with some of her most wild on-air moments.

During the Thursday, May 8, broadcast of the left-leaning cable news show, Chris Hayes played wide-ranging clips of Jeanine Pirro’s time on Fox News. “If the devil called me and said he wanted to set up a meeting to give me opposition research on my opponent, I’d be on the first trolley to h*** to get it!” the Republican pundit declared on July 17, 2017.
In another clip from December 2017, the judge remarked, “There is a cleansing needed in our FBI and Department of Justice. It needs to be cleansed of individuals who should not just be fired, but who need to be taken out in handcuffs.”
During a January 2023 broadcast, Pirro stated, “As for those liberal Hollywood leftists in need of a lobotomy like Rosie O’Donnell, they are straight-up communists!”

Despite their vast political differences and complete trolling of her work, Chris Hayes pointed out how entertaining Jeanine Pirro has been for viewers as she moves on to work for Donald Trump.
“There are a great many things you can say about Fox host Judge Jeanine Pirro, including now that she is the acting U.S. Attorney of the District of Columbia. Donald Trump elevated the latest Trump TV personality to a federal position after he was forced to pull the nomination of his first choice, far-right activist Ed Martin, who was so unqualified, he could not make it through a Republican-held Senate,” Hayes said.
When welcoming reporter Sam Stein onto the show, the journalist added, “I’m just going to say this straight up: Game recognize game. The woman is a good talker, straight up. She’s very good at doing that.”

Following Donald Trump’s appointment of Jeanine Pirro, Fox News bid The Five co-host farewell as she begins her new chapter with the president.
“Jeanine Pirro has been a wonderful addition to The Five over the last three years and a longtime beloved host across FOX News Media who contributed greatly to our success throughout her 14-year tenure,” the right-wing network said in a statement. “We wish her all the best in her new role in Washington.”

Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account on Thursday, May 8, to applaud Jeanine Pirro and welcome her into his administration.
“I am pleased to announce that Judge Jeanine Pirro will be appointed interim United States Attorney for the District of Columbia,” he wrote. “She excelled in all ways. In addition to her legal career, Jeanine previously hosted her own Fox News Show, Justice with Judge Jeanine, for ten years and is currently co-host of The Five, one of the highest rated shows on television.”
