Last Wednesday, Anthony Hopkins made an appearance on the big screen in the movie “Trapped.” To celebrate, here’s a new quiz featuring eight of his films for you to recognize!
Over a year ago, coinciding with the release of the film “A Life,” we offered you a first quiz on Anthony Hopkins’ filmography. Given that the distinguished actor, now 87, has starred in over a hundred feature films, the release of “Trapped” gives us the perfect excuse to challenge you with a second, even tougher quiz.
In this new film, Hopkins plays a rather subdued role on screen, reminiscent of Kiefer Sutherland in “Phone Booth,” or Scarlett Johansson in “Her.” The focus of this claustrophobic drama, which unfolds inside a car, is primarily on the other lead actor, Bill Skarsgård (famous for “It,” “The Crow,” “Nosferatu”).
Before you dive into these ten new questions, here are some behind-the-scenes secrets about the film directed by David Yarovesky.
DID YOU KNOW?
Remake
“Trapped” is a remake of the 2019 Argentine film “4 x 4,” originally set in the suburbs of Buenos Aires.
Custom Vehicle
The main setting of the film is a “Dolus,” which is not a real car model but a modified Land Rover designed specifically for the movie. This unique vehicle features a custom body, bullet-resistant windows, steel doors, and a six-point camera surveillance system. Three cars were made: one for exterior scenes, one with removable parts for interior shots, and one for stunts.
Second Choice
The role of Eddie Barrish, the character trapped in the car played by Bill Skarsgård, was originally intended for Glenn Powell, recently seen in “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Twisters.” Powell is set to appear next year in Edgar Wright’s remake of “Running Man,” taking over Arnold Schwarzenegger’s role as Ben Richards.
